Food Contact Materials (FCM) are all materials and articles that directly contact with food products or are intended to contact with them. Food contact materials are an indispensable part of food production, transportation, sales and consumption. Their main function is to avoid unfavorable factors such as pollution, quality degradation and nutrient loss to ensure the safety of food and the commercial value of product in a safe chain of production, sales and consumption.
Food contact materials include, packaging materials, bottles (plastic or glass), dishes, adhesives for labeling, and inks for printing labels. These materials must meet a variety of food safety standards. The use, purchase and import of food contact materials that do not comply with Chinese food laws and regulations are not permitted.
